We are always looking for new artists to display their work at Art on the Levee gallery. All local artists are welcome to contact us. What do I have to do if I want display my work?
The first step is to contact us, either via e-mail or by phone. We operate on a jury system to determine if pieces are appropriate for the gallery based on factors such as style, quality, presentation and pricing. We can arrange a time for you to stop by with samples/ a portfolio, or you may e-mail us images of your work.

Once my work is accepted, how does the process work?

Once we have agreed to show your work here at AOTL gallery (assuming space is available) the process works as follows:

(1) You will need to read over and fill out the AOTL consignment contract and tax form. All artists contract with AOTL gallery on an 80/20 consignment basis, meaning that the artist receives 80% of all sales (before tax).

(2) You will need to pay the appropriate rent before we can display your work. The rent is $100/mo. for an 8' x 8' wall. In the case of pottery, jewelry or other items (for which artists are required to provide their own display) we will negotiate an appropriate rental price.

We also offer discounts of up to 20% for advanced payments on full walls. You will receive a discount of 10% for paying two months advanced rent on a wall, and a discount of 20% for 3 months advanced payment, bringing the rent for three months down to just $240.

(3) You will need to provide us with a list of all your pieces (including titles, prices, medium, dimensions, etc...). It helps if you send us this information in advance before bringing in your work. This way we can "create" everything in our system and the check-in process will go more smoothly.

(4) All framed pieces need to be displayed in good quality frames free of and chips or scratches. As a general rule of thumb, simple is better. If you can justify using a gilded of other fancy frame for a particular piece that is fine, but simpler, less expensive frames generally make pieces easier to sell.

Unframed, wrapped canvas pieces are also acceptable. For presentation purposes, all wrapped canvas pieces need to be at least 1 inch thick and stapled from the back (not on the sides).

All matted pieces need to have a backing and be packaged in plastic sleeves.
